Today I went to the Botanical Gardens and had a delicious strawberry shake. I stole a bit of the summer. I'm a very happy thief.

For starters, I should say that I'm pro-mail. Today alone I sent six letters, and that's not necessarily an abnormality. I find sending mail to be an incredibly rewarding experience - even if no one writes back (and mostly they don't). I love the whole concept of mail. I'm an English major, I love sharing words. I love seeing handwriting. I love setting aside time to articulate my thoughts. But what I love the most is that I can physically hold a letter that someone I love held or will hold soon. So the Postal Museum? Awesome. Best museum ever. And it was great to FINALLY get up on the Hill. At last I feel like I live in Washington DC, not just a big city.
