Last night I left campus at 1:47 in the morning. After several consecutive hours with Harold B. Lee, Karl Marx, and my own insanity, I was relieved to finally return home. As I drove towards the exit, I made a left turn, and I turned on my blinker. That's right, I signaled to the world that I would be turning left. That's when my shoulder angel said to me, "Oh sure, you can blinker now, at 1:47 in the morning, going 5 miles and hour, in this completely vacant parking lot... but you can't be bothered to blinker during rush hour, on I-15, going 90 miles an hour."
And I just looked back at her and said, "Look, I never claimed to be a good driver OR a rational human being. Where's my shoulder devil?"
thanks for the comment on my blog a couple weeks ago! good luck with finals! :)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so unbelievably happy inside (minus the whole studying thing).
ReplyDeleteI always blinker. Period. And fully support blinker-ing in empty parking lots.
