Dear 2009,

I’ve been thinking about you lately. I’ll probably remember you as one of the best times of my life because of my friends and the good times we had (not the least of which being Oktoberfest up in Park City). You and I grew a lot together, so it hurts to label you as a “transition year.” Still, as much as I loved you, I cannot help but feel that we were mostly meant to repair the damage I did with 2008 so I could be prepared for whatever is coming next – and I think that makes you a transition year, a gateway drug, a nice bridge to the future.
